BATAVIA Realty USA acquires Bob Harris Realty After 59 years serving the local marketplace, Bob Harris Realty has announced it will enter into an agreement with Realty USA, the largest independent real estate company in NYS with over 65 offices and about 2,500 employees. Lois and Joseph Gerace say they will continue to remain involved along with their two sons Robert and John. Lois says she will remain at the office as associate broker and her son John will take over managing the office. Her husband Joe and son Robert will also remain as licensed real estate brokers. Lois says teaming up with Realty USA will enable the agents at the office to provide an enhanced level of services to both buyers and sellers. We now have access to the latest in technology and sales tools that will provide our sales agents the ability to provide top of the line services to our customers. The office currently employs about 15 people and the Gerace family has owned the business since 1986 when Bob Harris retired. Lois and Joe started working for Harris in 1975. Lois says she can remember Harris running the office out of his basement on Vernon avenue. John Gerace says he welcomes the extra work and is looking forward to seeing his parents have a little time off. Gerace says Realty USA will be renting the current office on Ellicott avenue until they can find a larger office space that will allow them too expand and add a few more employees. Joe Gerace says he will continue to run his barber shop on Vine street and Lois says she will continue to work also as long as her husband does. I dont think retiring is very healthy, Lois said. You just have to keep going so there is no reason to retire.
