BATH VA MEDICAL CENTER TO HOLD VETERANS EVENT IN ELMIRA HEIGHTS The Bath VA Medical Center (VAMC) is holding a “Veterans Economic Hardship and Homelessness Assistance Stand Down” on Thursday, December 11, 2014 at the American Legion Post located at 236 Scottwood Avenue in Elmira Heights, NY. Veterans who are facing economic hardship, housing issues or need help accessing health care are encouraged to attend. The Stand Down will consist of two sessions. The initial session will run between 9:30am and Noon. This will consist of informational/educational booths with VA and community agencies. Veterans participating in the morning session will be eligible for lunch and then military surplus items (blankets, boots, coats, sleeping bags, etc.) during the afternoon. Items will be distributed while supplies last. For more information, please contact the Bath VA Healthcare for Homeless Veterans Office at 607-664-4541. Please note that Veterans not currently enrolled should bring their DD214 and current income information to the event in order to determine eligibility for care.
