BAYERN MUNICH END ARSENAL DREAM: Arsenal battled hard but could only draw 1-1 away to Bayern Munich, who progress to the UEFA Champions Leagues last eight. The Gunners were given the runaround in a goalless first half at the Allianz Arena on Tuesday night, with chances few and far between as they sought to turn around Bayerns two-goal advantage from the first leg. Ten minutes after the restart, Bastian Schweinsteiger scored from Franck Riberys left-wing cross and although Lukas Podolski quickly smashed in an equaliser, the Gunners could not produce the goals they needed and went out 3-1 on aggregate. At least they were not beaten, with Lukas Fabianski saving a late penalty from substitute Thomas Muller after Laurent Koscielny fouled Arjen Robben in the box. Arsenal now have to concentrate on the home league and FA Cup to see if they can win any trophy this season.
