(BB) Encyclopedia of Australian Heavy Metal? Yes please! If you are a music tragic, supporter of local metal produce, or just would like to make a tangible contribution to the documenting of Australian music history the opportunity to make an indelible mark is upon you. This is an undertaking best described by those involved directly - The Encyclopedia of Australian Heavy Metal is an attempt to chronicle the history of heavy music in Australia since the heady psychedelic early days of Buffalo and bruising boogie of AC/DC and Rose Tattoo to the technical death metal of Psycroptic and muscular metalcore of Parkway Drive. Sounds like some bloody good reading to me! The project is a labour of love for editor Brian Giffin whos impressive contributions toward chronicling and promoting Aussie metal are outlined in the appeal pages synopsis. Heres where you can come in (or not - no pressure) Mr Giffin would like your help - by your making a contribution to the projects public pledge campaign. All the explanations and necessaries are obviously on the website, including the tiers of reward on offer relative to the monetary contribution. Yeah you read that correctly. Not only do you get the warm fuzzy feeling of helping some go-getting grass-roots music lovers achieve an admirable goal to promote and protect heavy Aussie musics legacy - you also get stuff! Not for Brian and team an offer of a poorly printed participation certificate to go with your fading sense of self congratulatory hubris -these are legit objects, real, actual things! You may already have guessed that one of said things is a copy of the book, but the other awesome goodies are detailed on the page too. Everyone really is a real winner in this whole scenario. So,below is a link to the site for Encyclopedia of Australian Heavy Metal crowd funder site. This is an effort I fully intend to support (as soon I have the requisite approvals from Mrs BB - Minister for Finance & Defence) and would encourage fellow music lovers to investigate and see if they are interested and able. Kudos to Brian and the others involved in what must have been a truly mammoth undertaking.Good on yas. pozible/project/183372
