BBC iPlayer is down. It has been for some people since Saturday; although not all programme content is affected equally. On some Radio programmes I can get a mono stream but not the usual stereo one. Some programmes list details but fail to play. Others just give up with page not found errors. I have downloaded several TV programmes from iPlayer when I found my recordings failed - disk full issues. But my normal week end catch up on radio failed. They are wanting to make BBC Three TV iPlayer only access. Some BBC Three programmes get millions of viewers. If they all stream at the available time the servers WILL crash. One day it may be different and perhaps if people are happy to wait up to a week later for their favourite programme fine, some how it looks a recipe for failure.
