BBK Parent Tip! The No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Act was signed - TopicsExpress

BBK Parent Tip! The No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Act was signed into law in 2002 by the Bush Administration. NCLB was designed to close the Achievement Gap between socioeconomic groups and have every student reach academic proficiency by 2014. Whats todays date? NCLBs advocates say the law holds schools accountable, empowers parents and is helping to close the achievement gap in Americas schools. NCLB critics, including those who agree with the laws goals, argue that it is a one-size-fits-all approach to education that overemphasizes testing and doesnt provide enough money to schools to achieve success. What do you think? How are your children progressing in school? Look back over the past year and take a really good look at what your child has learned! Want more information on how your childs school is doing? Go to greatschools to see your childs schools report card! BBK will share more information this week on NCLB and the impact it is having on our children. Have a great day building brighter kids!
