BCL MINE WORKERS THREATEN INDUSTRIAL ACTION BCL mine is once more threatened with industrial action, following the collapse of wage negotiations between the Botswana Mine Workers Union, which represents the majority of the employees, and #BCL management. A source close to the negotiations told Gabz Fm News, that the talks deadlocked on Monday and the two parties declared a dispute. The union wants a twelve percent salary adjustment while the mine has offered six. Relations between the two parties have plummeted over the past three weeks, and the union has called for the resignation of General Manager, Dan Mahupela. It has also accused management representatives at the negotiations, of undermining the whole process by using insulting language in addressing union members and boasting about their academic credentials. The executive committee of the mine workers union could not be reached for comment, as they are said to be locked in a meeting since this morning.
