BE A FAITHFUL FARMER Go away for the present. When I get an opportunity I will summon you. ---Acts 24:25 I have done it many times when a sales person has called. They call when I am busy and it is inconvenient to talk at the time and so I tell them to call back at another time. What I am actually saying is that I want them to go away until I have opportunity and time to talk with them. In the verse above in context, Paul is speaking to Felix the governor. Felix had sent for Paul and Paul shared the gospel with him. When Paul spoke about righteousness, self-control and the coming judgment, Felix was alarmed and sent Paul away as stated in the verse above. He cut the conversation short. Some people don’t want to hear the truth of God’s Word and cut the conversation you are having with them short. Be encouraged, you are either planting or watering (I Corinthians 3:5-8). God will give the increase and there will be people who come to the Lord as part of your labor. So trust the Lord and persevere in sharing the gospel! Dear Father, please help me to be faithful in sharing the gospel. Help me to plant and water and trust You to bring about a harvest in Your time. Yes, may I be a faithful farmer for Jesus.
