BE AN OPTIMIST what’s the difference between an optimist and a pessimist? Someone once said: “An optimist invented the airplane a pessimist invented the parachute.” An optimist says: “my cup runneth over, what a blessing!” A pessimist says: “My cup runneth over, what a mess!” Well that may be on a light touch, but the reality is that, life is full of negatives we live in a “no-no” world, very pessimistic. Just read the newspaper or watch the news. Someone once said: Negatives belong in the darkroom, not in the Christian’s life. Yours is a life of glory, you have been taken out of darkness into God’s marvelous light so don’t entertain negatives. As a pessimist you can talk yourself into failure, misery, depression and worry. Whereas as an optimist you can talk yourself into trust, love, joy and hope. Today I choose to be an optimist. You may wonder how you become an optimist in a seemingly negative World. I believe the answer is in the Bible, it depends on what I think and meditate on. In Philippians 4:8 Paul says, “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.” Optimism and pessimism has a lot to do with how you look at things. The scripture above helps you to look at things, people, and circumstances positively and with hope and that is the way it ought to be. Have an optimistic day!
