BE AWARE: STEALING IN PERMANENT PROGRESS Countless social, political and religious upheavals are still ongoing, with Nigeria foaming in blood. Some believe its divine luck that has sustained Nigeria and Nigerians this far. But, as far as i know, there are grave signals that even divine luck has its elastic limits. The political terrain is as murky and muddled as ever, even as 2015 general elections await our voting power or electoral defeatism. Those who have bilked and sucked Nigeria dry, and still nursing the dream of enriching their thieving culture, irrespective of their political affinity or affiliation, should be firmly informed that they are, cogs in the wheel of political/national progress. The poor masses cannot remain economically strangulated, only for some roguish and highly-disfavoured politicians to continue with their spoils. The present political dispensation has given rise to arrogantly dishonest individuals whose sum total appears to be greater than the sum total of the state, a concocted political absurdity, and a negation of democratic principles. These individuals we call our leaders/rulers have succeeded in giving us a state of perpetual insecurity, rig elections with electronic precision, and raid the national treasury with tenacity. Before them, the people are defenceless, and the nation itself is powerless. There is an established public in Nigeria thats embroiled in an ethical mayhem teeming with felons, and amoral zealots. There is also the Stomachically-Privatised Public, which is a transvaluator of values in which all manner of social/political obscenities are foisted on the nation. This is the realm of national contagion, of a national pandemic in which rudderless-leadership, corruption and graft have assumed a national dimension, in which political ideologies and party manifestos may differ, but greed and gluttony do not: a rainbow cartel of influential crooks and criminals. - Tajudeen Bakare
