BE COURAGEOUS! Too many people are not moving forward in life because of fear but what is courage? It is not the absence of fear but the willingness to act in spite of fear. Courage is confronting your fear. Even though you know that you failed last time, yet you are ready face it again and come out in flying colour. Courage is making decision to move on in spite of fearful situation. Courage is taking a step of faith. It is that inner force and willingness to hold on despite negative thoughts and ideas from people. In fact, there is nothing worthwhile without courage. Therefore, no matter what happens to you in life, never lose your courage. Listen to Miguel de Carvantes – “He who loses wealth loses much; he who loses a friend loses more; but he who loose courage loses all”. We all have our fears but let us learn to always confront them. After the death of Moses in Deuteronomy 34, Joshua became the successive leader of Israel but God told him in Joshua 1:9 to be of good courage, this is because it is needed in leadership either personal or inter-personal leadership. The same admonishment is what I am giving to you, no matter what your past had looked like or what your failure resembles, BE OF A GOOD COURAGE. Have that strong internal power to move on and carry on, you might have been tagged a failure, be courageous, your better days are before you. Trust in God and rely on him, your ways will be prosperous. Listen to an excerpt of Thomas Edison’s last public message – “My message to you is: Be courageous! I have seen many depressions in business. Always America has come out stronger and more prosperous. Be as brave as your fathers before you. Have faith! Go forward!” These are the words of a father saying – go forward. You see, there is no other place to go friend, the only option is forward. Never contemplate a backward drive, always have the faith and courage to move from where you are to where you are supposed to be. Are you like some of us who have childhood echoes of failure ringing in your heart? Always take your fears by the horns. Karl Barth once said –“Courage is fear that has said its prayers”. Yes that is what it looks like, no matter what happens, I’m going to be successful. Let that be your determination from today, tell failure that it will no longer have you and tell success that you are ready, that is courage. Many people are only bold not courageous. Boldness can start a fight but it takes courage to finish it. Boldness can only talk, courage acts. Boldness is in the mouth, courage is in the heart. So be courageous not just bold. God bless you. I have an assurance in my heart that your greatness in life and destiny is at your doorstep, just be courageous enough to act, it is yours.
