BE WITH US YET - LEST WE FORGET!” WOOLWICH BAND REMEMBERS DRUMMER LEE RIGBY On 9th November, in remembrance of fallen local hero Drummer Lee Rigby, Woolwich band ooberfuse release a moving musical tribute. Watch the video here: youtu.be/7Z4neAqF8uA The video features Strictly Come Dancing’s Chelsee Healey. 100% of the profits from the sale of the song go to support the work of Help for Heroes. FALL can be pre-ordered NOW and will be available to download from Remembrance Sunday, 9th November, the centenary of the start of the First World War. FALL explores the emotional impact of the horror of war not just on front-line soldiers but on those left behind on the domestic front. Cherrie Anderson, front-woman of the band, explains: “the barbaric murder of Drummer Lee Rigby in May 2013 on the streets of London happened a stones throw from my front door. Like many other members of the community, I was numb with shock at the ferociousness of the attack and utterly outraged. These emotions were pushed underground at the time as civil authorities appealed for calm in the face of such provocation. However, these feelings have resurfaced in FALL providing the song’s emotional background and inspiration. We were honoured to work with Chelsee Healey of Waterloo Road / Strictly Come Dancing in the song’s video. We hope the song raises money to contribute to Help for Heroes work. The charity is especially poignant to us as Lee was wearing a H4H t-shirt at the time of his brutal murder.” Hal St John from the band adds: “Staring at the sea of poppies stretched out across the lawns of the Tower of London it is impossible to forget Lee Rigby and the millions of unknown soldiers who have selflessly given up their lives to protect the freedoms we currently enjoy. We owe it to those who went before us not to let go of the hope for the future. We must not, through our forgetfulness, rob their sacrifice of its enduring value. FALL resurrects the memory of those who have fallen both at home and on the battlefield.” Bryn Parry, CEO and Co-Founder of Help for Heroes: “The money raised by FALL will be used to provide practical and direct support to those who have become wounded, injured or sick in service. The war in Afghanistan may be nearly over but for many members of the Armed Forces and their families, the battles are just beginning and we wont let them battle alone. This year’s anniversary events for WW1 and D-Day remind us how important this is and the shared respect between the veterans of all generations. On behalf of everyone who will benefit from your support, thank you.” Tom Sands of Substantial Films, who directed the video for FALL shares his thoughts: When I first heard the song, I found it very moving. The pace of the song also suggested to me a different approach from the ast cutting and frenetic storytelling we see so much of. It struck me that while we often see the perspective of a soldier at war, we less often see who he may have left behind. By using imagery that highlighted both the similarities in the screen couples lives, but the huge gap in experience, I hope to make people consider the more far-reaching implications of war. All profits donated to H4H. Released via Horus Music.
