BEANER RANT: TO MY ATHEIST FRIENDS WHO ARE ANGRY AT ME Why are you angry, so full of hatred? You are angry at religion and religious people, and lots of people on the planet are religious, though not enough, so this means that you are pretty much miserable. Now, since you found out Ive been Baptized (and with pictures) you are really mean and surly with me. Goodness. Why? Some of you Atheists are sometimes intelligent; so intelligent in fact, that you think you are smarter than everyone else. And whether on FB or on the street you are full of arrogance, contempt and even rage against people for being so stupid as to believe in God. You are condescending and patronizing, and your supposedly “objective” and “intellectual” criticism of religion is always laced with insults and negative emotion. I mean, relax! Ive known some of you for years. Chill. Instead of pulling out a joint, pull out a Bible. OY! Now Ive said it. I have never read or heard an argument from you folks that relied solely on logic. You use every propaganda trick in the book: straw men, exaggeration, reframing the argument, etc. You seemingly cannot present a logical point of view on the subject of religion that does not rely on distortions or attacks. Yes, attacks! I was your buddy until I got Baptized. Now Im the enemy. Take a long walk, youll feel better. You have such a miserable, bleak view of the universe: there is no purpose to life, no code of ethics to guide you, no comfort in tragedy and death. There is simply cold, brutal Darwinism, a short, meaningless existence, and then utter nothingness. How sad. If atheism brought inner peace, everyone would embrace it but is doesnt. It brings bitterness. You guys inherent sense of superiority fills you with disgust for the weak. For me. Youd better watch out are you will burn out with no source of compassion to plug into and no well of joy from which to draw. Atheism has nothing to offer you. Let go of your anger and your arrogance.
