IM EXCITED ABOUT THIS CRAZY INDUSTRY, AND ONLY THE MAGIC THAT CAN HAPPEN HERE So my dear #Canadians, with the announcement that my latest #movie, the #independent #horror #dark #comedy titled: Sanctuary; Quite A Conundrum Will not only be released in #Canada in 2015, but you, my neighbors to the north will be the first to get the official #DirectorsCut DVD release of the award winning #IndieFilm. With all new footage, new special features and new #DVD artwork. How bout that my #Canadian peeps. I am so excited and you get it before the rest of the world. So in honor of this major announcement for this small little #American, I want to repost the greatest review written by the greatest #filmmakers in Canada, and that would of course be the #TwistedTwins Jen Soska and Sylvia Soska. Here is what the ladies had to say after watching the movie at the Marble City Comicon last year. We watch a lot of films, films I find myself almost always making excuses for because my gender is often so poorly represented that I will take small victories in characters that I feel they meant to get well. When SANCTUARY; QUITE A CONUNDRUM started, I thought is was so funny, but then I quickly became very impressed. I felt almost as though the gender roles were reversed, but then I realized we were being treated to a film that was about characters that I havent seen grace a film often before, if ever. I saw the modern woman represented. Not a tired stereotype that forces itself into so many countless films because people are afraid of change because that could mean losing money, but four very different female characters that were funny, flawed, and multi-dimensional characters. And not the non-stoppable amazon, they felt like real people that I could know. Its why we both cried at the end. You showed beautiful humanity which I think is the essence of why films should be made. Beautifully created, beautifully shot, beautifully paced. I was so happy to see women represented like real people by a male writer and director. You must really love women because you have us nailed down in how you create your characters. And a random thought, I am writing a character for you miss Tristan Risk, just thought I would let you know in a random Canadian filled post, lol. So please if you have not seen the movie, get your copy on DVD and support independent #cinema. Us filmmakers would be nothing with the audience. And if you watch the trailer you will want to see the entire movie, but after reading what the #twins had to say you should want to see it anyway. And no you should not wait for the special edition directors cut, you should own both.
