BECOMING A RESOURCE (and NOT only a consumer) Paul was training - TopicsExpress

BECOMING A RESOURCE (and NOT only a consumer) Paul was training Timothy, and in doing so, teaching him to teach others. Timothy was called to “entrust to faithful men who will be able to teach others”, or to invest in those who would move from mere consumption to a deliverer of the Gospel (2 Tim 2:2). In the church today we focus on the supposed “higher calling” of leaders to the exclusion of the “heavenly calling” (Hebrews 3:1) of every believer. Is it time for you to live as a resource for others instead of constantly consuming investments poured into your life? Are you guilty of living as parched ground that greedily swallows the life giving rain, but never yields a useful crop for others? Start using your God given gifts and talents to be a resource in raising up faithful men and women. If there is no vapour ascending, how then can there be a condensing of the clouds into rain? If there be no scattering of seed, how then can there be an increase of harvest? If there be no outflow of blessing from our hearts to others, how then shall we in turn inherit a blessing? Give and it shall be given unto you. The more we “bless the Lord,” the more He gathers up those “vapours” and multiplies and increases until He pours upon us blessings of an hundredfold. - Ray Prinzing When the ground soaks up the falling rain and bears a good crop for the farmer, it has God’s blessing. But if a field bears thorns and thistles, it is useless. The farmer will soon condemn that field and burn it. (Hebrews 6:7-8 NLT)
