BEESOTTED 0 HANWELL UTD 2 In the first pre-season for Beesotted, the Bees met experienced Hanwell Utd in what proved to be an entertaining affair and a worthwhile exercise for both teams. Suh put out many of the new signings, as the club has sought to make a number of changes from last season. Making their first appearances for the club were Abbey, AJ, Brad, and Reggie, all of whom made a very positive impact on the fans as they caught glimpse of them for the first time. However, fans were most excited at seeing the return of Dean Mitchell, after a long-term injury, who started the match and completed 65 minutes before being subbed off to a standing ovation from the crowd. Despite not scoring, he looked back to being at his best and tested the keeper throughout the first hour. Jonesey, despite missing for much of last season, was closest to putting the Bees on the scoresheet on a couple of occasions, but headed just wide from a corner, and lashed at the ball in the final minutes to blaze over the bar with just seconds to go. New signing AJ could also be guilty of some poor finishing after his surging run saw him in a position to shoot from the edge of the box, but he also shot wide. Beesotted stalwart, Alan Parsons, though, could be very proud of his performance, as he made a number of world class saves to show Beesotted manager that he is ready to stake his claim for the no 1 jersey, despite rumours of Suh looking at other options for the keeper position in close season. Suh is due to sit down with Parsons to continue negotiations over his 12 month contract extension. However, Parsons could not be at fault for the first goal, which occurred after a defensive lapse saw Hanwell Utd in on goal and the finish was a worldie, as the striker volleyed into the top corner. The second goal conceded, in the second half, came under controversial circumstances as the referee failed to spot an offside. All in all, Dan Suh seemed happy with the performance after he said: Ive seen better performances, but we fulfilled our main objectives for this game. A few players managed 90 or nearly 90 minutes, and that is invaluable for the players at this stage. Many of the players are not familiar with each other just yet, but we still created some great chances and by and large, we were only overrun on a couple of occasions. I was delighted with all of the new players, and it was great to see the workrate put in by all the players. Next Sunday sees Beesotted FC host Marble Hill FC at Richmond College for a 1.30pm kick off. Squad used: Parsons Greeny Nico Jonesey AJ Henley Abbey Harris Adnan Brad Mitchell Reggie Shane Wigley Peanut
