BEFORE WE SPRING INTO ACTION. It is true that in Nigeria today there is No Steady Power Supply; No Security of Lives & Properties; No Adequate Healthcare Services; No Portable Water for Majority of Nigerians; No Afordable Housing; No Good Roads connecting Towns & Cities; There is Very High Unemployment Rate; Low Per Capital Income and High Cost of Living (High Inflation Rate if u like) . Despite the foregoing, Nigerian Public Officers especially Public office Holders begining with the President, Vice President, Ministers, Advisers, Governors, Commissioners, Advisers, National/States Legislators, Judicial officers, Permsec, Directors e.t.c. are well taken care of with Tax Payers Funds. They go about in convoy of brand new cars, live in choice Areas and travel overseas regularly. With the emergence of Boko Haram and recent Removal of Petroleum Subsidy, these fundamental problems have been relegated to the background. Majority of those calling for MASS PROTEST have limited the demand to the reversal of Pump Price of petrol to N65.00 per litre. But I ask; Will this solve the fundamental problems facing the Nation? What is the cause of these problems? Is it CORRUPTION or BAD LEADERSHIP? Eventhough it is generally accepted that Corruption is the bane of Nigeria problem, I am of the humble opinion that the remote cause of the Nations problems is bad Leadership. Much has been said about the salary & allowances of our National Legislators. We all see how our President & Govs move both within and outside Nigeria. That there is so much waste in Government cannot be over emphasised. Similarly there is no political will on the part of this government to fight corruption. In view of the foregoing, my humble advise to fellow compatriots is that BEFORE WE SPRING TO ACTION, we should ponder over what our demands or possition should be concerning the planned protest. I therefore submit that our demand should be for good, committed, honest & visionary leaders who will, inter alia, lead by example, tackle corruption head-on, Convene a Sovereign National Conference and entrench Justice in the Land for there can never be peace in the absence of justice. Hence we should demand or call for a replacement of the current corrupt, inept & indolent government with a Transitional National Council comprising of trusted hands such as the Wole Soyinkas, Femi Falanas, Olisa Agbakobas, Pat Utomis, Nuhu Ribadus, El-Rufais, the Buharis e.t.c. Untill then; ALUTA CONTINUA, VICTORIA ACERTA! 3 January 2012 Like · Comment Hide story
