BEGGING FOT THIS GUY... Shelter Staff made the following comments about this animal: A volunteer writes: Midnight is a resplendent treasure - a loyal "best friend" to be cherished for life! Recently separated from the only family he ever knew, Midnight is bravely facing his new world, trying to understand all the unfamiliar sights and smells that surround him. Curious, but slightly timid, Midnight is a good walker, occasionally pulling in a direction only known to him. At the park, he pauses often near areas where children are at play, simply content to watch them having fun; other friendly canines also seems a source of comfort, as we encounter a few on the path. The heat of the day requires us to take multiple breaks, and with each new break I find Midnight sitting closer and closer until, at last, he is sitting by my side with his back brushing softly against my shins. And when he spots a staff member in the distance who had engaged him earlier in his stay, his body starts to wiggle and his tail jumps into motion. When she stops to say "hello," Midnight is overjoyed, jumping up to greet her and reveling in the now familiar source of kindness bestowed on him earlier. Midnight is a true gem: his former family tells us he is housetrained and knows several commands, including "sit," "lay" and "give me paw". He has lived with children, other dogs and cats and is friendly with them all. So, if you have a place in your heart for a dog who may at first seem a little timid, but who has an overabundance of love to share, come see Midnight.
