BEGINNING IN 15 MINUTES YOU CAN BECOME AN INCREDIBLE SUCCESS! No, this isnt an Amway commercial or an endorsement for the Georgia Lotto. It is a game plan from God! Here now is your personal success plan. I am not going to charge you a consultants’ fee. You’re welcome. But I do strongly encourage you to have your Bible in hand and please y’all, take the time to go to each Scripture and digest it. God’s thoughts on this subject are so much better than mine (one is human reason --- one is supernatural truth!). Promise? Oh thank you. What I’m about to laid on you is a plan I have developed as a leader over thousands of young men whose lives I was able to know intimately and then watch in wonder their metamorphosis in manhood. This plan changed me quite dramatically many years ago now. Get excited, your life is about to soar with the eagles! One of the unique approaches to my game-planning for an opponent is something 99.9% of all coaches admit to me at the clinics I speak at---my approach is not something they have ever thought about. The guys who go home and apply this philosophy always send me great reviews of their new found success. What is it? I measure an opponent. Each opponent will have a “game personality.” They will have a certain pattern and tendencies in quarter #1, and a second quarter pattern different from the first quarter---and so on for both the 3rd & 4th quarters. We play to take advantage of our opponent’s quarter by quarter tendencies. We play to win one quarter at a time. And so it will be with your plan of success. Let’s win all 4 quarters---one at a time. 1. BELIEF IN SELF. Whoa coach! You’re actually going to start by propagating a secular humanistic philosophy?!?! Believing in yourself is quite Biblical folks. The fact we are to deny self and take up our cross, the mandate that He must increase and I must decrease has nothing to do with believing in the person God made me. You see, I am more than a conqueror through Jesus Christ my Lord! I am beautifully and wonderfully made! I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me! God has not given me the spirit of fear, but of power, of love, and of a sound mind! Ya feel me? I’m somebody, God don’t make no junk! One of my observations as I watch my boys grow into men---many succeed even when others do not believe in them---but rarely has any one boy succeeded when he doesn’t believe in himself. By the way, low self-esteem is a result of constant focus on self. Me, me, me. How do I look? What do others think of me? Am I going to get criticized or worse yet fail? On and on it goes. Stop it! Stop it this very moment in your life. Confess to God your doubting His handiwork! All of these self-esteem issues are directly accusing God of below average workmanship. Or, even more erroneous, we think God has reserved his best for others. Just as a day without prayer is a boast against God---conversely, belief in your blueprint is an affirmation of your Christ-confidence. Come on brothers and sisters---let’s go dominate this 1st quarter!!! More to come...You have a God-appointed role and with that role you have everything necessary to fill that role in you. A WILLINGNESS TO SEE THE BEST IN OTHERS 1 John 4:7 Here is an interesting observation I’ve come to recognize over the years. Think about this for a moment: I’ve never met a positive person who didn’t see the good in others. They are able to see the present value of a new relationship or the valuable potential that the person possesses. Now, there is no denying we all have certain expectations of others based on looks, position, association and reputation. But there is a habit that one can commit to that will off-set such immediate prejudice. It is called the “10 principle.” You simply choose to see everyone you meet as a “10” instead of assuming their dragging around a “3” or “4.” Not a bad way to start a relationship. And may I remind you when we react negatively of others---they will react negatively of us! So we end up limiting our ministry to those we “approve” as worthy. Ah, let me hit you real fast with this quick zinger---“…while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” If He would die for every human, the least we can do is be friendly. Give ‘em a “10” and the reason I like that is people usually rise to meet your expectation; seeing good makes it easier to stay positive; it’s easier not to take their behavior personally! So, Coach Rock, you think I’m a “10”? Yea babydoll I do. Now smile and let’s go get some Starbucks and try to make sense out of the BCS. 3. THE ABILITY TO SEE OPPORTUNITY EVERYWHERE. I believe there is a short and very sweet verse in the New Testament that goes like this: “With God ALL things are possible!” How bout this gem? “If you have the faith of a mustard seed you can move mountains!” Heck, here’s one more: “But thanks be to God who causes us to triumph in Christ Jesus!” Hey, y’all give me a minute I got to do a quick holy dance!..................................................................................ok, I’m back. The Greek philosopher Plutarch wrote, “As bees extract honey from thyme---the strongest and driest of herbs, so sensible men often get advantage and profit from the most awkward circumstances.” I love being around people who see problems as opportunities. Because problems are opportunities to do what? Trust God! And once we step out and trust God then people get to see us prove God! That is almost always followed by problems being solved----which in turn can change people. This then expands our borders and our quality of the Spirit filled life goes through the roof. Didn’t Jesus say He came to bring life AND LIFE MORE ABUNDANT!?!? 4. FOCUS ON SOLUTIONS. “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” As I begin wrapping this devotional up I want to talk about the right path. You see, you must be in God’s will, on His path for your life---the life you were designed for---THE RIGHT PATH FOR WHICH YOU WERE EQUIPPED! In other words, the path you were equipped to find solutions! Are you on the right path? If so, well babydoll get busy bustin’ up the impossible! Start seeing possibility in every impossibility. IMPOSSIBLE---DIFFICULT---DONE!!! Old Supreme Court Justice Louis Brandeis once wrote, “Most of the things worth doing in the world had been declared impossible before they were done.” Right on Louie! And let me throw this in the fourth quarter…people who focus on the problem ARE SELFISH! Why? It keeps the focus on themselves, poor me-me-me. So? Are you ready to win all 4 quarters? The transformation will be immediate and your testimony will stun those who know you best. Your ranking will jump from luke warm to red hot! Now get out there and take no prisoners, rather block the negative attitude and tackle the impossible situations.
