BEHIND THE SCENES OF BILL FOUNDATION In an organization with as long and successful a track record as Bill Foundation, there is an army of dog lovers working tirelessly behind the scenes, rescuing dogs, fostering and rehabilitating them, and helping them find forever homes. It began with Bill Foundations founders, Jo and Peter Forman, who started the organization 14 years ago and have been grateful for the immense support theyve received over the years. Two people with a passion and mission to rescue as many abandoned dogs as possible has grown into a large team of like-minded people. Whether it’s a Bill Foundation volunteer or staff member, or our multitude of donors, fans, adopters, fosters and animal care providers, it has been and continues to be a team effort. So many people dedicate their personal time to Bill Foundation, and they do this without fanfare or a desire for recognition. They deserve more credit than they are given, and we’re thrilled to start giving you a peek behind the scenes so you can get to know many of the wonderful people who have made Bill Foundation into what it is today. They all have a story to tell, and we hope they will equally inspire you as they have inspired us. To start this “series” off, please watch and share this video that was filmed about four years ago, highlighting our adoption events and a few of our volunteers who lovingly call themselves “lifers” and have been lending a hand to Bill Foundation for many, many years. The video begins at our previous adoption “headquarters” at Centinela Feed, where our dogs had to be placed in kennels, and ends in our present location at the Healthy Spot in Santa Monica, where our smaller dogs are able to run free in the play room and show off their personalities while also getting some extra cuddle time with our volunteers. :) One “lifer” you’ll be introduced to in the video is Bonnie Raskin who is not only a previous Bill Foundation adopter but also our current Volunteer Coordinator. To all of you—heartfelt thanks for supporting and following our efforts. --------------------- Dear Friends of Bill Foundation, I became a Bill Foundation volunteer 8+ years ago after a positive and fulfilling adoption experience with my Bill Foundation dog, Lester. Like many of our volunteers, I have a family and a full-time job during the week, but being a part of the Bill Foundation has been a life-changing experience and makes me view the world as a positive, hopeful place where miracles can and do happen. Like many of you, reading about Bill Foundation’s amazing dogs and watching their videos spurred me into volunteering, and it filled me with joy to see each dog go from often deplorable conditions to happy, healthy, adored family members. But it’s our people, the miracle workers behind these stories, that have kept me with Bill Foundation for so many years. I volunteer every other Sunday because I LOVE the people who join me. So, I encourage and welcome you to participate in the work we lovingly do and the community we are as Facebook followers, volunteers, fosters and adopters.
