BEHOLD! I WILL DO A NEW THING Categories: From the Bishop ISAIAH 43: 18 – 20(KJV) ‘’Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. Behold I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert. The beast of the field shall honour me, the dragons and the owls: because I give waters in the wilderness and rivers in the desert, to give drink to my people, my chosen.’’ Dearly beloved, I bring you greetings in the name that is above every other name Jesus Christ the Son of the Living God and our soon coming King. It gives me great joy to welcome you to the very first Sunday Service of the 8th month. The number eight is significant because it stands for a New Beginning. By the mandate of heaven, I declare that God will do a New Thing in your life this month. Every reproach, shame, embarrassment and discouragement that hitherto came across your way will be rolled away in Jesus name. You will succeed in that same place where you had hitherto failed. You will rejoice and be exceedingly glad for the Lord your God will arise on your behalf. He will make a way for you even where there seems to be no way. This month, the earth shall yield her increase for you and the heavens over you shall not be shut. Welcome to a new month! Welcome to a season of new things! Welcome to a season of new beginings! Beloved, I know that you may still have unanswered questions in your heart about why this and that thing has not happened yet, but I come to remind you that the God you serve is still faithful, just and righteous. The scriptures in Psalms 36:6 declare that His righteousness is like the great mountains which cannot be moved. God is committed to bringing to pass every promise He has made concerning you. You can indeed stake your life on what He has said and not see shame. No one has ever served God and gone away empty handed. Men may have laughed at you, mocked or ridiculed you but I encourage you to hang in there because it is the dawn of a new day. I encourage you to expect great things to happen to you this month. Remember that expectation is the mother of miracles, so don’t cancel yourself out. It may be tough out there in the world, but for you it will be different. You may not know how or when, but I can assure you that He will do it in your life. The last time I checked the scriptures, I saw that Esther though a slave girl rose to the position of being a queen in a foreign country. Think about it! It had never happened before. It was a new thing. God was at work in her life. Grace was speaking for her and the king had no choice than to choose her from among the whole lot. This month, that same grace will single you out for favour. The scriptures also tell us that David, though an ordinary shepherd boy was catapulted by the grace of God to the throne of Israel. It had never happened before for the last child in a family to ascend to the throne. It was a new thing. What is that saying to you? Understand that God can turn around your situation overnight. It may never have happened in your family before, but that is what makes Him God. David was the least in his family but when it comes to God, He is at liberty to bless whom He chooses to bless. Everyone around you may be failing, but that is not your portion because you are different. Beloved, you have heard the testimonies of others; let me also assure you that we will hear yours also. Child of God, as I close, let me remind you that the days we are in are evil so serve God with all your heart and all your strength. Do not join the company of those who serve God only when it is convenient. Refuse to focus on challenges and contrary situations because they are subject to change. Always remember that in-spite of what you may be going through, God is still depending on you and you cannot afford to fail Him. As you go into this week, as always, I commend you to God, and to the word of His grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified. As a father in the house, I bless you. Maranatha! In His Royal Service Dr. Mike Okonkwo
