BEHOLD THE HERO OF OUR TIME ( CHIUNA ACHEBE) Some Facts About The Late Literally Icon. * Albert Chinuaruogu Achebe, was a native of Ogidi in Anambra State. * He was born on the 16th of Nov. 1930. * He was a Nigerian Novelist, poet,Professor n critic in d real sense of d word. * At d age of 25, in 1955, Chinua had owned a car which he bought 2tru personal effort. * He was bset known for his first novel " Things Fall Apart" which is d most widely read book in modern African literature. * He was raised by his parents in his country home town Ogid. He excelled at school n won a scholarship for undergraduate studies. * he was so fascinated with world religions n tarditional African cultures n began writing stories as a university student. * After graduation, he worked for the Nigerian Broadcasting Service in Lagos known as Radio Nigeria. * Achebe became a supporter of Biafra Independence n acted as Ambassador for the people in 1967. * he lived in the United States for several years in the 1970s. * He had a car accident that left him partially disabled. * His novels focus on d tradition n cultures of Igbo society. * " Things Fall Apart" took him FORTY (40) years to. Write, because the story too personal, too painful n too gory to write. * Achebe n the rest of his gallant compatriots worked tirelessly to establish his Biafra country. * Achebe was a consistent critic of various military dictators that ruled Nigeria n was a loud voice in denouncing the failure of governance in the country. * He never regretted the sacrifices he made to build his own country. * Twice, he rejected offers by the Nigeria government to grant him a national honour because of the deplorable political situations in d country. * He was generally known for hardworking and as well , very enthusiastic . * Chinua was famous n courageous but very humble n simple man. * he died on the 21st of March, 2013. The literally Icon man has by his person n through his works demonstrated an important perspective of the soul of the Africa. Things have indeed fallen apart and the center cannot hold any longer. The voice of a true n righteous man is truly in his heart n action. Igbo people missed u . Nigeria, African n the whole world indeed missed u , buh u will remain evergreen in d hearts n minds of the true patriotic ones .
