BEING BLEMISH FREE ON YOUR BIG DAY Planning a wedding can be a stressful time, and added stress can lead to unwanted blemishes! To avoid imperfect skin on your perfect day, start early and get a great regimen going before a problem arises. If a surprise pops up a day or two before your wedding, take a tried and true wive’s tale for a spin to clear up quick! Wash your face with a good quality (but that doesn’t necessarily mean expensive) face wash in the morning before getting ready and at night before heading to bed. Never go to sleep with makeup on your face! Keeping grime and dirt off your face in the first place is the easiest way to keep pimples and blemishes at bay. Scrub well but gently to really get everything off, and consider investing in an electronic brush to help clear your pores. Try exfoliating, using face masks, or rubbing lemon juice on your skin! All of these will help to soften and brighten skin while clearing pores and zapping black heads! Shop around to find your preferred method or employ all three! Using one of these 1-2 times per week will help you to look like the glowing bride you are! Be mindful of any hair products you use and how they may be affecting your skin. Avoid getting products such as mousse or hair spray on your face as they can clog up your pores in an instant, leading to tiny blemishes on your forehead and hairline. For quick fixes to a blemish, try dabbing on some natural toothpaste or tea tree oil! The silica in toothpaste will dry up any nasty pimples overnight, drastically reducing their size. Tea tree oil’s antibacterial properties will reduce both the redness and size of unwanted bumps!(David Tutera)
