BELEAGUERED Raphael Chipampe Tafuna of the Lungu speaking people - TopicsExpress

BELEAGUERED Raphael Chipampe Tafuna of the Lungu speaking people has described the letter issued and signed by council secretary Gladys Chanda removing him from chieftainship as an insult. Tafuna reacted that he does not report issues of chieftainship to the council or the local government. He said chief retainers are present during the chiefs meetings not to interfere but to observe the deliberations. Tafuna has since wondered why the issue of going with retainers has become a stumbling block to other authorities. Tafuna has further disclosed that he is hopeful to work accordingly once the issue is settled amicably. According to reports the opponents from Sinyangwe clan have already appointed their own senior chief Tafuna of the Lungu speaking people. Meanwhile, Government has withdrawn all the chief retainers from the chief’s palace at Isoko until the matter is resolved.
