BELLS LINE OF ROAD, BLUE MOUNTAINS REMAINS CLOSED CONDITIONS EXPECT TO DETERIORATE TOMORROW ~ STATE OF EMERGENCY DECLARED TODAY IN NSW ~ TOTAL FIRE BAN IN FORCE LATEST ON BUSH FIRE AFFECTED STATE ROADS AS AT 6:45PM: As at 6:45pm the following roads remain closed: Lithgow to Bilpin: The Bells Line of Road remains closed in both directions between Tadrosse Lane (Bilpin Fruit Bowl) and the Great Western Highway. The Great Western Highway remains open and can be used as an alternative route however motorists are advised to avoid all non essential travel. Mt Victoria to Bell: Darling Causeway remains closed in both directions. **Additionally buses are still replacing trains on the Blue Mountains Line between Lithgow and Mount Victoria in both directions. Passengers are advised to allow additional travel time. Wilton: Picton Road remains closed between Macarthur Drive and the M1 Princes Motorway (Mount Ousley Road). Motorists are still able to access the township of Wilton from the Hume Highway and Wilton Road, however Wilton Road is not suitable for heavy vehicles. Motorist are urged to continue to avoid all bush fire affected areas, and drive with extreme caution in areas that are experiencing heavy smoke and poor visibility.
