BENCH PRESSING! There is a lot of talk about what way is the best way to do an exercise. With Bench Pressing, its no different! I have posted a video to show you how I Bench Press and how I ensure all of my clients Bench Press (if applicable to their training). First of all...MY ASS IS TOUCHING THE BENCH! Second of all...ITS PERFECTLY FINE FOR ME TO HAVE THAT ARCH/CURVE IN MY LOWER BACK! Third of all...MY FEET DONT NEED TO BE FLAT ON THE FLOOR! The way I Bench Press was taught to me by a powerlifter. I decided to incorporate this style of bench pressing because of the fact that it allowed me to use my ENTIRE body with the movement and therefore make my bench press stronger. - My feet push into the ground as I push the bar up. - My glutes are squeezed tight as I push the bar up. - My hips are thrusted as I push the bar up. I do this because it allows for more power in the bench press and therefore a heavier weight to be lifted. If you dont like the way I do my bench press or disagree with anything I have said in this post, thats cool. You have your opinion and I have mine based on tested and proven methods of training that world record holding powerlifters use for their own training and strength coaches use on their clients :-)
