The group, Benue Defined Agenda, which is more popularly known to as G7, has formally joined the campaign train of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship flagbearer in Benue State, Rt. Hon. Prince Terhemen Tarzoor and his running mate, Hon. John Ngbede. At a ceremony yesterday, the group unveiled its leadership to Rt. Hon. Speaking on behalf of the group at the occasion which was witnessed by a large crowd of people, including the press, President of the G7, Mr. Akaa Ayo, lauded the wisdom of incumbent governor of the state, Rt. Hon. Gabriel Suswam in choosing to support the emergence of the youthful Tarzoor and an equally youthful John Ngbede as the flagbearer of the PDP for the governorship. Mr. Ayo said, such a decision by Governor Suswam is in line with the principle of generational succession, with a younger generation succeeding an older one. The G7 president also pledged that the youths of Benue State consider themselves duty-bound to ensure the victory of the Tarzoor/Ngbede gubernatorial ticket, as according to him, it will be victory for the youths. Receiving the G7 leaders and their donation of a car for his campaign, PDP governorship candidate, Rt. Hon. Tarzoor, commended the decision of the youths to join forces with his campaign efforts. He pointed out that his candidacy derives strength much from its distinctly youthful quality, expressing faith that with the overwhelming population of the youths, he and his running mate, John Ngbede, are in strong position to win the February governorship poll. Rt. Hon. Tarzoor urged the G7 leadership to work to galvanise the teeming youths of the state to work for the victory of the PDP at all elections coming up in February, as he enthused that the party represents the best hopes of majority of Nigerians for a future of stability and prosperity. The PDP gubernatorial flagbearer further charged the youths to refrain from all acts capable of causing crisis before, during and after the elections, saying there is no level of ambition worth the destruction of human life or property, even as he expressed gratitude to the G7 for their donation of a car to his campaign. The Benue Defined Agenda, according to its expressed charter, is a group of like-minded Benue youths who are registered members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and working through peaceful means, for the success of the party at elections and as partners for development.
