BEREAVEMENT TRAINING PROGRAM Bereavement Training, January through March in San Pedro; and May through June in Westlake Village The Cemetery Department of the Los Angeles Archdiocese is sponsoring two Bereavement Training Programs for people who are interested in ministering to people in grief. One program will be on Monday evenings from 7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., from January 27 through March 10; and, also on Saturdays, March 8, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. It will be held at Mary Star of the Sea Church in San Pedro. The other program will also be presented on Thursday evenings from 7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., from May 1 through June 26. It will be held at St. Jude Church in Westlake Village. Cost is $40 per person for either program. Please note that this program is not for people grieving the death of a friend, colleague, or family member, but is for people who want to minister to those who are grieving. This program requires a strong attendance commitment--and, we urge five or more persons from our St. Lucy Parish to commit themselves in a caring way to journey in faith with the bereaved suffering a loss in our community.
