BERTHA PAULINE WILYARD, 86, of Bruceton Mills (Brandonville), WV, died Friday, October 17, 2008, at Heartland of Preston County. The daughter of the late Sylvester Peter and Leota Mae Thomas Frankhouser, she was born December 31, 1921, in Brandonville. Pauline was a 1940 graduate of Bruceton High School and a member of the Shady Grove Church of the Brethren. For many years, she delivered newspapers for the Dominion Post in the Brandonville community. She is survived by five daughters and their spouses: Beverly and William Dennis of Farmington, Pa, Linda and John Rexroad of Bruceton Mills, Nancy and Robert Pretzel of Bruceton Mills, Shirley and Richard Jacob of San Diego, CA, and Naomi and Ed Armstrong of Bruceton Mills; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren. In additon to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William L. (Bill) Wilyard, Sr., a son, William L. Wilyard, Jr., a grandson, Brandon Burdette, a brother, Ray Frankhouser, and a sister, Delma Frankhouser. Friends may call at the Carl R. Spear Funeral Home, Brandonville-Bruceton Mills, Sunday, from 2-4 and 6-8 pm, and on Monday, October 20, 2008, at the Shady Grove Church of the Brethren, from 1:00 pm until 2:30 pm, the time of the funeral service, with Pastor Barry M. Adkins officiating. Burial will follow at the Shady Grove Cemetery in Bruceton Mills. Personal condolences may be sent on line to the famiy at spearfuneralhome.net.
