**** BESSIE UPDATE **** I know I have been putting things out there all day, but now that I have time to think. Here is the BESSIE UPDATE. As you could see shes up and cruising around the ICU floor un-assisted, and even talked the entire 4th floor staff into letting her take a regular normal shower, which they are not suppose to do. In my eyes and the the nurses eyes, she is pretty much back to normal. She should be home to finish her recovery. However, that little old pump in her chest is not firing properly and she is attached to an external pace maker. Half her heart is pumping on its own, and the other half needs to be paceed which is normal for this type of surgery. The heart will start beating on its own in 2-3 days. Because Lisas heart was radiated 25 years ago, her heart is slow to recover. Her surgeon does not want her to go longer then 7 days with and external pace maker, so Tuesday morning she is scheduled to get a permanent pace maker. Once she gets it put in, she will be released the next day to go home. If she has to get the permanent one she still will have NO RESTRICTIONS. Business as usual. Besides all that, she is in great shape, and is ready to get out of there. Keep your fingers crossed for the next 3 days.
