BEST SELLERS LIST!!?? So recently I found out pretty much by accident (if I believed in accidents :)) Detoxify Yourself was found on a best sellers list in Calgary, I wrote a blog post about it which will be published next week (for SEO reasons). I was quite take back as you could imagine, Detoxify Yourself has taken me places I never thought I’d go, certainly never on any kind of best sellers. First thought was disbelief, then I thought they got the name or title wrong, but when I saw proof reality hit home, I was able to appreciate all the hard work I put in. I didn’t realize how much work I was putting in till someone else mentioned it. The fact of the matter is, I don’t treat Detoxify Yourself as a side thing or supplemental income (anyone that’s written a book knows there isn’t money in books unless you sell a ton of ebooks or millions of paperback books). What I do is treat Detoxify Yourself as it’s own business, one that you invest in and one that takes time to grow. The time and effort I put in, a new website, blog posts every week, a book signing every weekend I can manage; these are all sacrifices I’ve made, with time, energy and effort and in the end I haven’t had any expectations. Every sale or new order is exciting because I didn’t expect them. Every testimonial that comes through makes me more grateful than I can express. And although the financial return isn’t there (at least not yet :)) those testimonials are the reason I keep pushing forward with this project. I’m quite certain at some point someone will hear about Detoxify Yourself, wonder why so many sold or how I was able to do it and in some fashion think of it as an overnight success, or I got lucky or the was timing was right. You hear all these things with other businesses or projects, you hear all about overnight successes but you don’t hear about the years it took to be an overnight success, you don’t hear about the overnight successful businesses that took 5 or 10 years to build because it wasn’t an overnight thing, that’s not what people want to hear. Most businesses take time to establish, they take energy, emotion, constant unending effort and sacrifice. If you’re willing to do all that, if you’re willing to sacrifice and fail and do everything it takes to succeed, then I believe to my core you can have anything you’ve ever wanted....and more.
