BEWARE HOTWIRE!!! I always had good luck with the online travel agencies Priceline, Expedia and Hotwire. However, Hotwire fouled up this weekend and failed to fax or otherwise provide the Radisson Hotel I stayed at with my booking (even though their confirming e-mail said there was no need to call them or the hotel to confirm). So we appeared at the hotel late Saturday night, tired and ready for rest ... and the hotel had no idea I was booked there. Both the hotel and I called Hotwire and were put on hold and bounced around for at least 30 minutes when finally Hotwire said that they had been too busy to inform the hotel of the booking until we called. We got in after midnight, but this was terrible, unacceptable service and they didnt even want to apologize. Plus, the website wasnt working properly and I had to book by phone in the first place. Hotwire has now dropped off my list of preferred travel providers and I suggest anyone who uses them call the hotel in advance to make sure it has received the booking.
