BEWARE OF FALSE INFORMATION Lately we have noticed a large increase in our competitors quoting grossly inaccurate (shorter) processing time estimates for the K1 fiancée visas and the CR1/IR1 spousal visas. They are doing this for one of two reasons. Either they have not recently filed for and obtained the type of visa they are quoting processing times for, or they are purposely quoting shorter processing times in order to get the potential client to hire them. Understandably, the timing will change periodically based on the number of petitions being filed. The processing times that my office quotes are based on current actual K1 and CR1/IR1 cases that we have processed through the same USCIS Service Center that your petition will process through, the Homeland Security National Visa Center and the same U.S. Consulate where your petition will process. Each week, before we open our phone lines, we have a staff meeting in which we review the timing of the approvals we received the previous week from the USCIS Service Centers and the interview dates we obtained at the various U.S. Consulates throughout the world. Then we adjust the time estimates we will give to potential clients who call us during that week. Because we have recently processed so many fiancée and spousal visa cases through both of the USCIS processing centers and approximately 150 Consulates throughout the world through which we process visas every year, we know exactly how long these visas are currently taking for your particular situation. We will use this information to estimate the length of time it will take us to obtain your visa. There is nothing anyone else can do, other than what we will do, to speed up the processing of your fiancée or marriage visa. I would also caution that you cannot always rely on the time estimates of the various government web sites as they are often either incorrect or not current.
