BFAR eyes to farm pangasius in Aklan River September 20, 2013 12:52 AM KALIBO, Aklan – The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) is studying the possibility of putting up a pangasius fish farm at the Aklan River here. Sangguniang Panlalawigan member Soviet Dela Cruz said he endorses the production of pangasius in the province. "BFAR wanted to determine if the pangasius will not harm other fishes and other marine species at the Aklan River," said Dela Cruz. Pangasius is commonly called as river or silver stripped catfish, Siamese shark, sutchi catfish, or swai catfish.
