BHW FEATURED HORSE Registered Name: Derby Day Rain NO TRADES Gorgeous 4 Year old gelding by Flit To Kill and out of a AAA mare by Chicks Beduino. I bought this gelding and sent him to a trainer for 4 months to be started under saddle. I immediately noticed he acted very similar to my mare that has PSSM and decided to test him. He tested positive for PSSM Type 2 via muscle biopsy and so he will require a LOW STARCH diet and DAILY exercise. He does better when kept off of my grass and kept in a dry lot with hay only. I paid $4500 for him and spent $1,000 vet checking him. I have a disc full of x-rays and had him scoped to ensure he had no flapper issues. Then I spent another $2800 on training. He is a sweet horse, but will need a home that will work him every single day in order to keep him feeling good. I work 12 hour days and have only had a handful of days off in the past 3 months. I am over whelmed with trying to work 3 horses every day working these hours. He will be sold with all paperwork stating that he is PSSM Type 1 negative, but PSSM Type 2 positive.
