BIBLE TEACHES SALLAH (PRAYER) Jesus is described in the Gospels as prosprating during prayer. In Matthew the author described an incident which took place when Jesus went with his disciples to Gethsemane: “And going a little farther he fell on his FACE and prayed, (Bible Matthew chp.26 verse 39) In Genesis Prophet Abraham is recorded to have fallen on his face in prayer.(Bible Genesis chp. 17 verse 3) In Numbers both Moses and Aaron are recorded to have fallen on their faces in worship (Bible Numbers chp. 16 verse 22 and chp. 20 verse 6) In Joshua, Joshua fell on his face to the earth and worshipped (Bible Joshua chp. 5 verse 14 & chp. 7 verse 6) In Kings Elijah bowed down on the ground and put his face between his knees (Bible 1st Kings chp. 18 verse 42) In Nehemiah the mode of prayer was described Arrangement in row, with leader in the mid -front (Bible Nehemiah chp. 8 verse 4) Lifting up ones hand and blessing the name of Lord, while the congregation answered (amen) (Bible Nehemiah chp. 8 verses 5-6) Bowing ones head (Bible Nehemiah chp. 8 verse 6) Touching ones head on the ground (Bible Nehemiah chp. 8 verse 6) This was the way of the prophets through whom God choose to convey His word to the world; and it is only by this way that those who claim to follow Jesus will gain the salvation which he preached in his Gospels.
