BIG BLOW OUT THERE...We got a wallop of snow today but not nearly as much as Buffalo. It was farrier day and the stalls seemed particularly heavy. I think it is all the moisture in the air dampening the bedding. I stole a chance and put the Sunset Girls in Lolis Meadow late morning while the other group went to Reflections Savannah with Max going to Aris Hill Rise. They all enjoyed a good romp. Mystic got turned out for 30 minutes while I started evening feed. The ground was slippery so I didnt want Mystic out too long in his equally slick shoes. Earlier in the day I had placed sand down over the ice that had formed yesterday. With the snow falling fast and hard, it soon covered my trail of dirt. I carefully walked the horses in this afternoon. At one point my feet went out from under me. Thank God I was holding onto the shank and old Finale saved me from crashing to the ice below. The chains are going on my boots tonight!! Visitors to the farm this evening are advised to take care. There is ice underneath the snow in the parking lot.
