*****BIG BLUEGILL ALERT***** After overhearing a conversation at the fish cleaning station this weekend i feel compelled to post this. I saw many small gills and yellows being cleaned which is OK at least folks are catching enough panfish for their fish frys....thats good. But the comments from all the anglers Paraphrased: There arent any big bluegills left in Okoboji... One guy said :.....We even talked with one of the guides and he said NONE OF THE GUIDES ARE EVEN CATCHING BIG GILLS!!!! !!!!!! WHAT ???? !!!!! Needless to say that comment made the hair on the back of my neck stand up. GEEZ!!!! i Did not inform them I was a guide....but they were taken by suprised when they saw our pail of 9+inch gills. Here are a few photos from this past month to show you that AT LEAST ONE GUIDES clients are catching plenty of HUGE OKOBOJI BLUEGILLS! By the way....I have plenty of openings this fall.
