BIG FRIDAY: Kevin-Prince Boateng is leaving to join Schalke and Milan intend to replace him with Honda or Kaka. The market is alive for Milan. After making it to the group stage of the Champions League, the Rossoneri have decided to move in the mercato and Alessandro Matri and Valter Birsa are not the only players who will join in the next days. Milan have said on many occasions that a player needs to leave before they can sign and Kevin-Prince Boateng is set to depart from the club and il Diavolo are reportedly interested in replacing him with Keisuke Honda or Ricky Kaka. Video: Serie A 2013/2014 – All the goals from Week 1 Milan and Juventus agree deal, Matri joins It’s been confirmed by the Bundesliga club Schalke that Kevin-Prince is in Germany for medical check-ups. At first Milan denied the news, claiming he was still in Italy and training but later confirmed it. According to Sky Italia, Milan will recieve a fee of €10-11 million from this operation (initial reports suggested it’ll be €15 million, Bild believes it’s €12 million). Boateng played 100 games in his Milan career (three full seasons) and scored 17 goals – two of them were vital for Milan’s Champions League qualification as they arrived only two days ago against PSV Eindhoven. But now Boateng can be considered history as far as Milan are concerned. Adriano Galliani and Massimiliano Allegri have already decided who they want to replace him and the two main names are CSKA Moscow’s Keisuke Honda and Real Madrid’s Ricardo Kaka. Sky says Honda is the preferred option for Milan and they have made an improved bid for him: €3m plus a significant amount of bonuses and now they are waiting to see if the Russian club will finally agree to sell him this summer. Kaka, meanwhile, suggested he’ll try to leave Madrid and it’s believed he’s willing to halve his salary to return to the red&black’s. Should Milan fail to sign Honda (again) they will go for Kaka, whose spokesman is in Italy apparently for Milan talks. In any case, Honda will join Milan in January so by the end of the year Milan could have both the Japanese and the Brazilian.
