BIG HAPPY 89th birthday to the King of the Blues Mr. Riley B. King (B.B. King) Here is a cool little story on how his guitar was named Lucille for those not aware. Back in 1949 B.B. was playing at a dance hall in Twist Arkansas and back then a lot of blues clubs were unheated and poor. It wasnt uncommon to use a half barrel of petrol and light the top on fire and put it in the middle of the dance floor to heat the room up. On that night a fight broke out and the barrel was spilled sending burning fuel all across the floor. Everyone was evacuated (B.B. included) from the place and realized he left his guitar in there. He risked his life rushing back in there to get that $30 Gibson guitar. Later on he found out the two guys fighting were fighting about a girl named Lucille. Thankful he didnt die going back in there, he named his guitar Lucille to remind himself never to risk his life for something like that again! ~ Dave Mason
