BIG NEWS: On Saturday, FBB were delighted to attend and participate at the Amnesty International UK #Sidelines football film festival. One of our key members Sanaa Qureshi spoke brilliantly on the first panel of the day entitled The Perfect Host, putting established journalists on the backfoot throughout the discussion & making some brilliant points about the lack of focus on Israels human rights abuses with regards to hosting the UEFA U21 tournament last year. Amnesty representatives spoke in glowing terms about her participation and the audience clearly enjoyed it too! Later in the day, we were able to bring together Mahmoud Sarsak, the Palestinian footballer, & Eric Cantona for the first time since Cantona helped secure Sarsaks release from Israeli prison in 2012 by signing an open letter demanding the intervention of FIFA and other governing bodies. It was a fantastic meeting of two football legends, and it was great for us to be able to facilitate the meeting and introduce Eric to FBB too!
