BIG SWAMP NEWS: What a beautiful day it is down at the Big Swamp and talking about perfect weather, this is it.. I couldnt drag myself back in the house this morning when I was having my coffee and reading Our State Magazine on the side patio. What could be much better than fresh brewed coffee, reading a great magazine and the company of our kitty cats..Dan is loving this weather as that Minnesota fella doesnt fare well during the extreme hot weather..I had plans to continue my yard work today but sat there long enough to talk myself out of it. Weve been going strong this week trying to do catch up on these poor pitiful looking yards. They were neglected all spring and summer because I didnt have time to do the garden and the yards.Dan kept them mowed but that was about the extent of it.. Its a slow process as there is so much to be cut back and the pine straw falling by the bushels. I dont have a lot of swamp news today except we lost a life long neighbor, Mr Sam Liles this past week. What a wonderful man he was, a true gentleman and a great friend and neighbor. You will be missed Sam..RIP our friend.. We had a fun evening and dinner with our best buddies last night here at the swamp.. Dan cooked his famous fish recipe using the fish he and his fishing pardner Don James caught and talk about good, they were as always perfection.. We had some delicious chili that my friend Joy made and it was delicious..It was a new recipe she made and it was heavenly.. Never tried fish and chili before, you should try it, a great combination especially with my swamp corn bread.. lol This is going to be a short swamp news as I want to get back and finish out my lazy day..I dont treat myself to many of these but today, I think I will. I hope everyone is having a fun weekend and until next time from the Big Swamp.....
