BIGGEST PRO-LIFE LEGISLATION IN MANY YEARS IS IN DANGER OF DYING OR BEING VETOED! As recently reported by NC Values Coalition, the future of the pro-life bill before the General Assembly containing multiple pro-life provisions is uncertain. There are two bills that have passed—one in the Senate (HB 695) and one in the House (SB 353). Each of these two bills only needs one more vote of concurrence for it to go to Governor McCrory for his signature. Two weeks ago, Governor McCrory threatened to veto HB 695, if changes were not made to the bill. In response to the veto threat, the House passed SB 353 containing the changes demanded by Governor McCrory. Neither bill has yet received the final vote necessary for it to go to the Governor for his signature, and the General Assembly is slated to adjourn its session this coming week. Take Action! Ask the Governor and your Legislators to pass HB 695 or SB 353! 1) Call Governor Pat McCrory at (919) 814-2000. 2) Call your State legislators.
