This 2 year old male Chihuahua has anxiety and possession issues. Lovingly raised in a very pet friendly home, Biggie was a little bit too much for his family to handle. He was originally given to his owner’s teenage daughter as a gift and she didn’t know how to properly socialize him but wouldn’t accept help or assistance. According to his family, Biggie is a very loving and kind dog but can get extremely protective and would charge the teenage boys that would come to visit. After a recent move, the problem got worse and Biggie started charging neighbors in the street. In general Biggie is great with other dogs, cats, and people but because he can be very possessive and overprotective of his own people, Biggie needs an experienced home- one that can work with him and teach him to get over his behavior issues and be more trusting with men in particular. In his brief time at Animal Care, Biggie has been very pleasant and though there was a growl at a male staff member approaching the woman holding him, he responded immediately to a correction. It just goes to show that with proper instruction and handling, Biggie can have a bright and happy future ahead. He now needs a rescue to help him get it. Biggie arrived at Animal Care on October 5.
