BIJULI DIDI... After receiving massive response across Odisha, Bijuli Didi, the public awareness drive on the value of electricity, has now started moving into hundreds of schools across the State. The campaign titled “Mo Bijuli, Mo Bhabisyata, Mo Daitwa” (My Electricity, My Future, My Responsibility) will now conduct exclusively designed school shows across schools in Odisha. The campaign which is in its third leg, will now target educating over 5 lac school children across Odisha in the span of the next few months through an innovative and super exciting school show designed exclusively keeping young school children in mind. Hundreds of school shows carrying the messages of the campaign shall be depicted in an extremely interesting manner, covering the CESU, WESCO, NESCO and SOUTHCO areas. The mainstay of these school shows is a 40 min childrens film, starring our very own Ollywood Superstar Anu Choudhary as the campaigns brand ambassador, now widely recognised as Bijuli Didi. The film, set around a bunch of school kids itself, is all set to inspire and encourage thousands of schools children to raise their voice against the social evils surrounding electricity and its misuse. Besides the film, the show also includes a direct message recorded by Bijuli Didi for the kids, and a variety of informative and educative programs led by an anchor. Apart from the show, the students also get a chance to showcase their skills in a series if Painting, Essay Writing and Slogan Writing competitions at the school level. The campaign which has been managing to hit the right chords with millions of citizens of this state, hopes to continue doing so in the future as well. All the electricity distribution companies along with OERC and the Ministry of Energy, have come together to launch this comprehensive state-wide campaign aimed at building awareness and support to eliminate power theft, eradicate energy poverty and increase access to low-cost electricity. After a spate of intelligently produced television commercials, radio spots, press & magazine advertisements, outdoor hoardings and street play, the campaign started reaching out directly to people, by launching a spate of state wide school shows. “With ‘My Electricity, My Future, My Responsibility’ message at its core we have been running the campaign successfully across a wide array of media including television, radio, newspapers and magazines, billboards & kiosks, wall painting, street plays and informative literatures for mass distributions. It is now time to switch from mass publicity to individuals and impress upon all the true value of electricity and certain best practices,” said Mr. Surdarshan Nayak, CEO, CESU adding that the campaign has devised an exciting show for school students to enrich their knowledge and bring about attitudinal changes in their lives. “Each and every citizen of the State needs to realize that his or her future, and especially the younger generations’ future, is connected to electricity in more ways than we realize. And coming together to eradicate energy poverty from this state and creating a self sufficient energy infrastructure which gives us access to low cost and great quality electricity is actually right in our hands”, says the Creative Director and Visualisor of this Campaign, Mr. Manav Rath.
