Its a phrase that was coined in the computer software industry meaning does a company use their own software (product) in their own daily business or operations. For example: Does McAfee antivirus use their own software to prevent viruses? Monsanto says their products are SO SAFE they shouldnt be labeled. If this is were really true then why not label them? ITS FREE ADVERTISING! True science is merely a tool by which we can ask questions, perform tests, and record results in order to acquire knowledge and understanding. The question is do these biotech companies really think we are too stupid to make our own decisions? Or are they just scared what they might find after doing true, long term studies on the environment or human health? Regardless, should we have the right to choose? What is also not mentioned is most genetically modified foods (corn, soy, sugar cane, etc.) are subsidized which make them cheaper than organic varieties. Most of these products go into processed foods. Even President Bill Clinton commented on it say, its a horrible use of corn. Because the reality is people arent eating straight genetically modified corn. Aside from popcorn most of what we are eating is maltodextrin, high fructose corn syrup, margarine, soy lecithin, soy protein, and other refined substances that go into processed foods as a cheap fillers or sweeteners. We are literally subsidizing nutrient depleted, refined, junk that is (undeniably) contributing to diabetes, heart disease, obesity, and cancer. The best thing anyone can do it start eating real whole foods, start eating healthy fats, and avoid processed and nutrient depleted foods that do more harm than good.
