BISBEE BLUES FESTIVAL INFO: The 10th Annual Bisbee Blues - TopicsExpress

BISBEE BLUES FESTIVAL INFO: The 10th Annual Bisbee Blues Festival will take place over the weekend of September 12-14. The Blues Festival Main Event will take place at City Park in Old Bisbee on Saturday, September 13th from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. With less than a week to go until the 10th Annual Bisbee Blues Festival, KBRP Community Media has confirmed an opening night line-up for Friday, September 12th that includes Dave Riley and Bob Corritore, Hans Olson, CW Ayon, and The Bryan Dean Trio. “We have worked hard in the last two months to find a way for the Festival to bring direct impact to the venues that support live music year-round in Bisbee. The Bisbee Grand Saloon, Stock Exchange Saloon, and St. Elmo’s Bar, along with KBRP Community Media, have stepped forward to provide performances that will bring additional musicians to town and provide an economic impact to our community,” KBRP Executive Director Ryan J. Bruce said. On Friday night at 7 p.m., The Bryan Dean Trio will take the stage at The Bisbee Grand followed at 9 p.m. by CW Ayon, this year’s Saturday festival opener. At the Stock Exchange, Hans Olson will return to Bisbee for an 8 p.m. performance followed by Dave Riley and Bob Corritore. “We know many people were concerned that the Blues Festival was not going to take place this year, but with the addition of this Friday night line-up, we hope a few of the skeptics will return to the fold and attend this year’s festivities,” Bruce said. In addition to the Friday night line-up, a Saturday night Blues Festival After-Party and Blues Jam has been put together. Tucson’s Bad News Blues Band will headline a two-hour after-party at The Stock Exchange Saloon and local favorites Buzz and the Soul Senders will play a set followed by a blues jam at 10 p.m. St. Elmo’s Bar. “KBRP is thrilled to have the celebration continue this year at our local venues. We are honored to have The Bad News Blues Band and Buzz and Soul Senders put a cap on the evening and hope that all of our other performers might drop in at Elmo’s to participate in the Blues jam,” said Bruce. Even with a short planning time, KBRP believes it is the appropriate place for the long-term home of the Blues Festival and has created the Bisbee Blues Foundation to develop this intention. The foundation’s vision includes continuing to support a multiple venue, live performance festival along with a new educational and arts component. This year, along with the Friday and Saturday Blues performance schedule, KBRP has created a new free event called Blues Village to take place at Central School Project on Sunday from 9-2 p.m. The Blues Village will include activities for families and feature workshops on singing, song-writing, instrument-making, and recording. Additional information is available at the Bisbee Blues Festival website at bisbeebluesfoundation. Advance tickets are available online for $20, which includes all Saturday and Sunday events. Day-of-show tickets will be $25. Tickets are available at Bisbee Office Supply and High Desert Market as well as all Zia locations in Tucson and Phoenix. Additional information is available by calling Bruce at 520-227-6547 or by emailing bisbeebluesfestival@gmail.
