.............................BISHOP AND LADY J!....................................... I woke up this morning with thanksgiving in my heart. As I began to think of all the things I had to be thankful for, my mind went immediately to Lady J.....Many of my new readers may not know who she really is and why I end every post and comment with Bishop and Lady J...........Well here it is again. Lady J. stands for Joyce McCool. She is my wife. I met her when she was 7 and I was 9. My twin brother and I sang at a tent revival in Johnson City TN. and she sat on the front seat and made eyes at me while I sand....lol...Well I made eyes back at her and that was it, I was madly in love with this Tennessee Beauty.... Well I lived in Michigan and she lived in Tennessee and so we only got to see each other once a year at vacation time....But make no mistake, when we went to Johnson City, it was Spencer and Joyce. Believe it or not there are notes 60 years old that say I love you, do you love me...Yes or No. Check the box! .....Happy to report that most of them are checked YES! lol. By the time I graduated High School in 1964, my mind was made up. I told my mother Mom Im moving to Johnson City TN and Im going to marry Joyce Roark.....So I graduated in June of 1964, moved to Johnson City in July of 64 and on Nov. 7th 1964 we stood at the altar and became husband and wife.....This Nov. 7 we will have been together 50 years...LHM!!! So heres the deal in writing this much too long a status.....I love Joyce this morning much more today than I did that Sat. night in Nov. 1964....We have been through some stuff......We have lost two children, had a miscarriage, been through breast cancer and surgery and won. We had an auto accident that almost took her life. There have been financial difficulties, church problems, heartaches, pain and disappointments. Its all been a part of this thing that we call life....But you hear me this morning....As the old Andre Crouch song says...THROUGH IT ALL..... Weve learned to trust in Jesus....He has brought us through every trial, test, storm, valley.....He has never let us down..... And folks I love this lady more this morning than I ever have.....As a matter of fact, Im getting ready to take her coffee in bed right now...... Dont any of you youngster’s give up on your marriage. Keep Jesus the center and and you will make it.....Forgive the length of this post but I dont want anyone to forget who Lady J. is....We are one....Have been and will be to the end...and thats why I always sign of by saying God Bless, ...................................BISHOP AND LADY J!........................................
