BIZCLIM II UPDATE: For your information the extension of BizClim II has commenced operations in February 2013 and will end in July 2015 with the main objective of providing assistance to ACP countries for improving their business environment and becoming better places for doing business and investing. The Facility is now open for submission of requests for assistance to private sector and public sector bodies alike, such as Regional Economic Communities (RECs), Governments and Private Sector Organizations (PSOs). BizClim operates on a demand-driven basis to implement activities within the remit of the Facility and consistent with its specific objective of boosting the business environment in ACP countries and regions. Areas of intervention cover: (i) undertaking of studies and interventions on investment prospects and business environment assessments; (ii) public-private dialogue and regional integration; (iii) capacity building of regional organisations, notably RECs; and (iv) reflection on pertinent themes and follow-up activities on earlier recommendations. BizClim will provide primarily funding of consultants; the organization of events (workshops, seminars, conferences and training) and communication. For information and dissemination of best practice, BizClim will maintain an online portal (acpbusinessclimate.org) allowing access to constantly updated information and learning tools. Integrated platforms include a virtual e-learning environment, virtual classes for learning and collaboration as well as this e-community platform. The portal also contains detailed information on how to get assistance from BizClim and an Activity Monitoring System that will track developments and progress in implementation of supported projects. BizClim will seek to make use of all its tools to maximize the developmental impact of projects supported.
