BJP Sweeps Doda District. Modi wave works in Chenab valley Doda::Bhartiya Janta Party has won both Doda and Bhaderwah assembly seats of Doda district .BJP candidate from Doda assembly segment Sh Shakti Raj Parihar defeated senior congress leader two times MLA and cabinet minister in Omar led government Sh Abdul Majeed Wani by 4085 votes Parihar got 24128 votes whereas Ab Majeed Wani got 20143 followed by Sh Khalid Najeeb Suharawardy of NC 16166 votes and Shahab ul Haq Batt PDP 2071 votes. BJP candidate from Bhaderwah constituency Sh DilipSingh Parihar won by 1459 votes from his nearest rival Sh Mohd Sharief Naz of congress also two times MLA Bhaderwah. Parihar was polled 25746 votes and Congress candidate got24287 followed by Sheikh Mehboob Iqbal of PDP 16533. Supporters of BJP are jubilant to celebrate the victory at party headquarters in Doda and Bhaderwah they exchanged greetings and distributed sweets. The results are clear indications of change in the state. People were fed up with the Omar led coalition government and wanted to bring a change at large scale. It is pertinent to mention here that Modi factor has also worked in Chenab valley. Meanwhile various organizations of Doda congratulated Shakti Raj Parihar on his victory in the elections. Doda Development Front DDF, J and K RET Teachers forum , Education Development Society EDS Doda and All Jammu and Kashmir Gaddi Shippi Tribes Welfare Association district Doda have extended their greetings to him.
